Children with emotional disabilities: perceptions of siblings
Article Abstract:
Siblings who have a brother or a sister with an emotional disability deny the existence of any problem in their homes. They do not like to be labeled as belonging to a family with problems as they insist that every family has its own problems. It could be possible that children are not aware of the concept of emotional disability and hence see nothing wrong in the behavior of a brother or sister with emotional disability. For getting proper research results, it is necessary to first educate siblings about these concepts.

Pregnant and postpartum adolescents' perceptions of the consequences of child abuse
Article Abstract:
A study on the perceptions on child abuse and personal child abuse histories of 263 pregnant teenage girls showed that drug and alcohol abuse and suicide were ranked highest as possible negative effects of their abuse. Surprisingly, teenage pregnancy was not identified as a consequence of abuse. These results indicate a need to integrate abuse history in creating parenting intervention programs.
