Public opinion toward equal opportunity issues: the role of attitudinal and demographic forces among African Americans
Article Abstract:
An analysis of Afro-American opinion towards equal opportunity issues with the use of demographic-attitudinal focus, particularly on core values, have been presented. It was found that core values greatly influence support for government policies. Furthermore, findings show that Afro-Americans are greatly ambivalent about the implementation of equal opportunity programs as a result of inadequate government action. The political and social implications of such results on the Afro-American community have been discussed.
