The future of refugee work
Article Abstract:
UN High Commissioner for Refugees Sadako Ogata calls for stronger international commitment to the protection and upholding of the rights of refugees. She believes that rescue work will be enhanced by the support of all countries for similar efforts. However, as the number of refugees continue to swell, industrialized countries opt to restrict the entry of refugees seeking asylum. Moreover, the refugees and their families suffer harsh treatment from the host country. These policies must be stopped and eradicated to effect meaningful help for marginalized people like refugees.
