On the trajectories of postcommunist transformations
Article Abstract:
The political development of the post-communist countries can take a number of various directed trajectories. A broad spectrum of political regimes and structures of the distribution and reproduction of ruling authority is taking shape in the post-communist space and a variety of political systems have formed.

Democratic values and freedom "Russian style"
Article Abstract:
Russians' attitudes toward democratic freedoms merit special attention from sociologists. This is because democratic transformations were offered to the people 'from above' and the people accepted them as they would have accepted anything else imposed by the regime.
