Soviet man ten years later, 1989 - 1999 (preliminary findings of comparative research)

Surveys taken in 1989, 1994, and 1999 show a significant shift in how many Russians view social change. Results from the first year showed widespread bewilderment, from the second a desire for stabilizing mechanisms, and the last nostalgia and desire to adapt to new social realities.

Deviation as a security problem

Research suggests that many Russian school children do not feel personally secure. Surrounded for most of their lives by unfavorable life factors prone to aggressive reaction encourages the development of deviant behavior that challenges the formation of a stable society.

On ethnic relations in post-Soviet societies: the interpersonal aspect

The many republics created by the dissolution of the former Soviet Union has posed a problem in ethnic relations. Research suggests Russian-speaking minorities have good prospects for long-term adaptation in the European republics, but less so in the eastern regions.
