The Chinese concept of face violence against women
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to understand the feelings and behavioral responses of Chinese men in case of violence in intimate partnerships by introducing the concept of face. It is found that the stronger the face orientation, the greater the masculine gender role stress and thus the greater likelihood of using violence against spouses, which in turn addresses to two important clinical implications, namely, redefining Chinese masculinity and face-sensitive interventions with Chinese male batterers.

Chinese culture, social work education and research
Article Abstract:
The power relationship between teacher and student can act as a barrier to the development of scientific knowledge and practice research in the development of indigenous social work knowledge in China. It is suggested that social work education and practice research in Chinese societies should focus on the empowerment of social work students, methodological pluralism and the development of a culturally specific practice research model.
