The mystery of the coca plant that wouldn't die
Article Abstract:
America financed a billion-dollar aerial coca fumigation campaign, the cornerstone of America's war on drugs, that not only produces more leaves but is also resistant to glyphosphate with its key ingredient being a herbicide named, 'Roundup'. However, this mystery of herbicide-resistant cocaine has two possibilities, one being the farmers using selective breeding to develop a hardier strain of coca or scientists genetically modifying the plant, making it impervious to glyphosphate.
