Why the broadcast flag won't fly

The broadcast flag - an FCC copy protection scheme for digital TV tuners - would be built into consumer electronics starting July 2005.The controversial technology, designed and pushed by broadcasters and studios, would prevent the file-sharing of perfect copies of high-definition TV.
