The reliability of quarterly national accounts in seven major countries: a user's perspective
Article Abstract:
The effectiveness of preliminary quarterly national accounts statistics as tools for evaluating economic development is examined. In this study, provisional estimates to growth in gross domestic product in developed countries such as US, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, UK and Canada are utilized. Results indicate the absence of statistical bias in preliminary estimates for output growth.
