The role of fantasies and dreams in the TV viewing-aggression relationship
Article Abstract:
The effects of TV viewing on children's aggression were studied from the viewpoint of information processing theory. Aggression among Finnish children was measured using the peer nomination and self-rating methods, while TV viewing was measured according to the amount of viewing made during a week and the frequency with which violent programs were watched. Data was also gathered concerning children's aggressive and fear fantasies. Analysis revealed a positive correlation between TV viewing and peer-nominated aggression. Positive correlations between the amount of viewing and fear and aggressive fantasies.

The lull of tradition: a grounded theory study of television violence, children and social work
Article Abstract:
Television has become an intrinsic part of the daily lives for most of the nation's citizens. The medium educates and entertains children with a variety of stories on local culture that are laced with violence. A study was conducted on television violence in relation to 21 social workers who dealt with children in school, private practice and in the clinic. The results of the study are thoroughly analyzed and discussed.

Home correlates of aggression in preschool
Article Abstract:
A study on the home correlates of agression in preschool was conducted using information from threedata sets of four-year old children observed at home and in school. Results indicate that girls' aggression was related to temperamental characteristics and that there were significant correlations with hostility over the studied groupings. Also, aggression is related to mother-child relationships.
