An overview is presented on the socioeconomic impact of capital infusions and job availability in China, specifically the trend of rural-urban migration. Studies indicate that while cities offer a greater number of employment opportunities, economic success remains difficult to obtain for most citizens, forcing many to live in marginalized conditions outside government oversight.
