Therapeutic components and differential treatment outcomes among clients of Israeli services for substance abusers
Article Abstract:
A study that was carried out to examine the therapeutic components and outcome of interventions in a public, nonresidential service for drug addicts in Jerusalem (SHALEM) is discussed. It is felt that social workers in the addiction domain must be formally trained to treat clients with trauma history.

Cost-effectiveness of case management in substance abuse treatment
Article Abstract:
A study to examine cost-effectiveness of case management for individuals treated for substance abuse in a residential setting is presented. Case management is not cost-effective as a supplement to traditional drug treatment over a 12-month follow-up period.
