Travel from home: An economic geography of commuting distances in Montreal
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to investigate people's habit of traveling from different distances to access different types of job location, with particular attention to the different distances traveled by men and women. It is concluded that differences in commuting length between different places of work are independent of factors such as residential location, economic sector, occupation, income and that each job location may have its own local culture and men and women react differently to them.
