Twenty-five days to go: measuring and interpreting the trends in public opinion during the 1993 Russian election campaign
Article Abstract:
Results of the 1993 presidential election in Russia were a surprise to many analysts since the support for candidate Vladimir Zhirinovsky and his Liberal Democratic Party was greater than pollsters thought it would be. The difference between the predictions and the results likely stems from Russians not willing to admit to anyone that they would vote for an extremist such as Zhirinovsky. The polls also forecasted less support for the communist party than was actually received. The large percentage of undecided voters also skewed the forecasts.

Affirmative action and the public, 1970-1995
Article Abstract:
An analysis of public opinion polls about the issue of affirmative action taken from 1970 to 1995 shows how much public opinion has changed. However, the polls did not adequately phrase the specific policy in question, thus causing discrepancies in the results for questions attempted about the same issues of affirmative action. Results on questions about preferences yielded lower results that questions about quotas. An analysis of the race of the respondents shows the greatest discrepancies in public opinion about affirmative action.
