Wealth and poverty in the perceptions of Russians
Article Abstract:
The age and sex composition of the poor in Russia that confirms the classical theories asserting that among the poor there is a predominance of children up to age sixteen and young people is presented. The structure of the poor strata of the population includes the category of the 'new poor', that is able-bodied people who are working but are unable to earn enough to provide themselves and their dependents with sufficient resources.

Transformation of the traditional values of Russians in the Post-Perestroika period
Article Abstract:
The process of changing of Russians' basic values in the Post-Perestroika period was not easy. Societal transformation has gone hand in hand with the rapid erosion of traditional values in Russia and during the initial years of reform people gave priority to values of freedom over values of material well-being, but after 1996, people have rated material well-being higher than values of freedom.

Perestroika through the eyes of Russians: Twenty years later
Article Abstract:
A survey titled Perestroika Through the Eyes of Russian: Twenty Years Later' was conducted among the Russian people to understand their views about their need for a Perestroika in January-February 2005. However, on the whole, the views of people vary significantly with age, depending on whether they have had personal experiences before and after Perestroika or not.
