Article Abstract:

Bill Stevens, a custom boat-builder in California designed the new Flying Tiger 10-Meter with an aim to build a new sportboat to market to the growing numbers of sailors in China. The 32-foot sportboat design calls for a rectangle keel, a keel-stepped carbon-fiber mast, a carbon-fiber sprit, an outboard well under the bridgedeck, and a cassette rudder.

Very inspiring. It feels really good to know about the success stories of people that came from humble beginnings. With their expertise, perseverance and ingenuity, we can see how far the boating experience has evolved. From the inflatable boat to the massive aircraft carriers, it's really wondrous to see how far technology has progressed.

Dufour 455

Article Abstract:

The Dufour 455, the flagship cruiser of Dufour Yachts, has a 55-horsepower Volvo diesel engine and is a sound all-rounder with good cruising performance. Among the other boats discussed are two new cruising catamarans, the Broadblue 42 and the 38-foot Seawind 1160, and the new Corsair Sprint 750 trimaran.

Rock-solid retirement

Article Abstract:

Garry Morfit, a skipper of a large private motoryacht, managed on making boating a career because he wanted to travel and so ended up managing yachts for a living. He states that his appreciation of reliable systems and rock-solid construction comes from his experience as a skipper.
