Hunting dogs need to have good quarters, especially during the winter months, so they do not freeze to death or remain exposed to bad weather. Quarters that are built to trap the animal's body heat when it rests and bedding that retains heat are recommended.

A Brave remembrance

Brave was descended from a line of dogs specifically trained for hunting mountain lions and bears. His natural talents saved the life of his owner, Steve Matthes, from being attacked by a lion more than 30 years ago. Brave was also the best lion dog.
