Energy exchange
Article Abstract:
It remains difficult to design 100%-reliable motorcycle engines due to the energy exchange between crack and piston. This causes the crankshaft rpm to vary which, in turn, requires a torsional shock absorber between the gearbox and the engine. It also produces secondary vibration which drives the engine to reverberate.
