Article Abstract:
Some NFL clubs benefited from free agency in the 1994 season, while others were less successful. For example, the San Francisco Forty-Niners benefited from the acquisition of Deion Sanders, but Scott Mitchell was not impressive with the Detroit Lions. These and other free agents are discussed.

The more sophisticated offenses in today's football are forcing the defense to change its tactics. Traditionally, teams have made use of the so-called 'prevent defense' in order to protect a lead. The defense, which was designed to prevent the long pass, is usually inadequate in the 1990s.
