Hopkinton: it all starts here
Article Abstract:
Hopkinton has been the starting place of the marathon since 1924, when the starting line was move from Ashland to extend the race to 26.2 miles. Stores either open early to accommodate crowds drawn by the race or are closed all day. Other aspects of town life and the marathon are described.
