Four-stroke outboards are making a comeback especially since the EPA has mandated a 75% reduction of hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide emissions by the year 2006. Companies such as Honda Motor Company Ltd, Mercury Marine and Yamaha Corp have developed their own four-stroke outboards.

Mix masters: is direct fuel injection better than electronic fuel injection?
Article Abstract:
Boating Magazine has directly measured the performance of direct fuel injection (DFI) technology and electronic fuel injection (EFI) motor using 150-hp. Results showed that the DFI system performed better than EFI, when subjected at a minimum speed.
