Article Abstract:
A personal narrative of sailing with emphasis on the dream of going ocean sailing to circumnavigate the world is presented. Sailing in the the 1985 Transpacific Yacht Race made the author realise he wanted to go home and did not need to travel around the world.

The experiences of an Australian sailboat enthusiast when she was caught in a storm while sailing towards South America are narrated. This experience is part of the Australian's attempt to circumnavigate the globe using a 100-yr. old cutter.
