Elderly people given training in the ancient exercise t'ai chi are less likely to sustain falls than counterparts who receive computerized balance training. Researchers believe t'ai chi teaches strategies for maintaining balance, while computer training only teaches what it feels like to lose balance.

A study of PSA levels in black and white men has improved the accuracy of PSA norms. The new norms have successfully identified 95% of the prostate cancers in black men. Norms based on mostly white populations may have resulted in significant underdiagnosis of prostate cancer among black men.
