The length of wedge irons and their strength are very important elements that often get overlooked when buying golf clubs. A typical set of golf clubs will have a set of wedges with the same lengths, and shafts that are too short and too strong. Wedges should be progressively shorter and weaker.

The cut lob

The lob wedge intimidates amateur golfers because they are afraid of hitting a short shot too far. Inevitably they take a full backswing and then decelerate on the downswing, which usually results in a skulled shot that sends the ball rolling over the green. Proper shot technique is presented.

Putting under pressure
Article Abstract:
A research analysis of golfers hitting putts under pressure situations at lengths of over 10 feet showed a clear and distinct pattern. Over 50% of golfers tended to leave their putts short of the hole, a clear indication that the pressure caused their muscles to tense up.
