Longeing for respect changing directions
Article Abstract:
A series of exercise on longeing for respect which is a pre-ride warm up is presented. It is stated that the respect and lightness fostered through longeing technique would be beneficial when being remounted and the exercise would also activate the thinking side of the brain, improve the balance in rollbacks and strengthen the bond between the trainer and the horse.

The ways to supple four of the horse's body parts, the head and neck, poll, shoulders, and rib cage, at the time of riding are described. The methods to control each of these body parts, skills that would serve the rider in any endeavor, including competition, after it becomes more flexible and responsive are mentioned.
