The Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club is a wonderful golf resort that calls to mind a friendly and unpretentious private club. Mid Pines, which opened in 1921, is one of golf designer Donald Ross's finest and unappreciated creations. The course is regarded as very challenging, but devoid of intimidation.

Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, TX, was developed by Norman Hurd, beginning in 1970. The resort, which has become increasingly popular, has three golf courses designed by Trent Jones, a riding stable, three pools, and a 325-slip marina.
