The National Park Service is being sued by survivors and family members of two people who were killed while hiking in Utah's Kolob Canyon. There is a question as to whether the group leaders used good judgment. If the Park Service loses the case, future hikers may not be allowed in the area.

Leave the guns at home
Article Abstract:
The murder of a couple hiking along the Appalachian Trail sparked a debate among 'Backpacker' readers about whether it is a good idea to carry a handgun on a hiking trip. Approximately 14% of hikers do carry a gun, and both sides commented on their choice.
