Blood pressure decreases during sleep, but research indicates that a shorter than usual night's sleep, or going to bed later than usual, may raise the blood pressure. It is possible that increased adrenaline, brought about by sleep deprivation, may cause the higher blood pressure.

Stiff penalties: surgery too soon may set knees back
Article Abstract:
A retrospective study on anterior cruciate ligament surgeries found that patients who had the surgery too soon after their injury had increased risk of developing knee stiffness called arthrofibrosis. Waiting at least three weeks after the injury is recommended.
