Article Abstract:
The San Blas Islands on the Caribbean side of Panama where the authors cruised in Salsa in the fall of 1994 during their first circumnavigation of the Caribbean, were captivated by its beauty and plan to visit there again. There are no hotels in this island but the people there always offer visitors hammocks and allow them to sleep among the Kuna families in a palm-roof palapa.

Sailors should adopt an attitude of trust and caution when they are caught by a storm in the deep waters. They should keep their faith in their companions and refrain from leaving the boat. Moreover, they should always remember to bring lifejackets as a safety precaution.
