The factorial validity of the TAIS attentional-style subscales
Article Abstract:
The factorial validity of the Test for Attentional and Interpersonal Style (TAIS) was tested. This psychometric instrument is widely applied in sports to evaluate an athlete's attentional style and its effect on performance. Statistical analysis indicated poor factorial validity of the test subscales and furthermore, it lacked discriminant validity in testing facets of attentional styles. The test also did not reliably assess the sports dimension and actual ability of attentional styles. A broader scope of the test was recommended to improve its validity in sports medicine.

Self-presentational processes in exercise and sport
Article Abstract:
Self-presesntational factors influence people's attitude towards sports activities. Individuals often modify their behavior to create a favorable impression on others and this tendency to monitor and manipulate other people's attitude towards oneself is called self-presentation. Self-presentatinal factors determine an individual's willingness to engage in physical activities and their choice of sports and excercises. Self-representational motives also influence the quality of performance and their affective response to physical activities.
