The hormonal response to a d-fenfluramine challenge in trained and sedentary men
Article Abstract:
Central serotonergic adaptation in response to endurance training may be more complex than previuosly thought. Researchers challenged exercisers and non-exercisers with 30 mg of d-fenfluramine. The similarities in overall prolactin and cortisol response among eight endurance-trained men and seven sedentary men do not support earlier findings of receptor down-regulation in the brain of physically fit people.

Serotonin(sub 2C) receptor blockade and thermoregulation during exercise in the heat
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the effect of serotonin (5-HT)(sub 2C) receptor blockade on the thermal response and exercise performance in a warm surrounding. The study suggests that the body temperature was affected by 5-HT through an effect on the 5-HT(sub 2C) receptors but this effect was not successful in influencing the performance.

Errors in the estimation of hydration status from changes in body mass
Article Abstract:
The potential errors found in the estimation of hydration status from the body mass change are quantified. The analysis has suggested that body mass change is not a reliable measure of changes in hydration status and substantial loss might occur without an effective net negative fluid balance.
