Daydreams of a fishing enthusiast are described. The daydreamer hoped for a new fishing reel for Christmas and in his imagination he pictured himself in Alaska, impressing the guide with his accurate casting and catching first a giant salmon and then a huge tarpon.

It is just possible that Labrador retrievers can be trained to find fish. The first, and perhaps biggest, step would be to train the dog to be stable in a boat. Then work could be done with a fish dummy, gradually increasing its depth in the water.
