Tried and true techniques for AF shooters: five tips for getting perfect focus every time
Article Abstract:
Underwater photographers using the autofocus (AF) technology should follow five suggested techniques to attain a perfect focused picture. The AF shooting techniques depend on the setting, subjects and its movements. The subjects are classified into five areas. They are stationary subjects in wide-angle settings, moving subjects in wide-angle settings, stationary or approach tolerant subjects, moving subjects in uniform direction, and moving subject in erratic motion.

Tools and techniques for photographing the reef's tiniest subjects with the help of housed camera are illustrated. The lens' native magnification will deliver life-size imaging, but getting great magnification will require a teleconverter, extension tube, diopter, macromate, woody's diopter and seacam diopter.
