Voyage to the bottom of the world
Article Abstract:
A participant in the first Antarctica Marathon, or 'The Last Marathon,' as the organizers called it, describes the event. The race was held in Feb 1995 on King George Island near the Antarctica Peninsula. The terrain was covered with rocks, snow, or water, which made for the world's 'toughest' marathon.

Visa International has been a tremendous help to US track and field activities since it began sponsorship of the US decathlon team in 1990. Visa, an Olympic sponsor, became interested in decathlon sponsorship as a result of a proposal by Harry Marra and Fred Samara.
