Why Europe?

European ski resorts offer more skiing, more wilderness and a new cultural experience. Skiers who have never been to Europe should first visit a large, well-known ski area and then visit lesser known areas. Several ski areas are described, and travel information is given.

The early bird gets the turn
Article Abstract:
The ski resorts that opened early in the season in 1991 included Hilltop in Anchorage, AK; Boreal in California and Mt. Bachelor in Oregon. Many resorts were open by Thanksgiving, and some were open by Halloween.
