The plan of National Ports Authority (NPA), Port of Cape Town, South Africa for developing the plot and land located in the Container Terminal and near the 360m Sturrock Dry Dock to ease the congestion and to accommodate the future market growth is presented. Concession Agreement for a period of 20 years would cover the provision of finance, design, construction, commission, operation and maintenance of ship repair facility.

Landmark anticorrosion measure
Article Abstract:
The Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) line has chosen a new line of anticorrosive steel plates for the cargo tank bottom, which is said to be available and usable at an acceptable cost. A test was done to verify its welding standards and strength, which revealed that it resists corrosion irrespective of the surrounding environment or the quality of maintenance work.

Midnight sun sees the light of day
