Dedicated state funding is critical need

The challenges faced by the numerous transit agencies in Pennsylvania due to increasing cost of fuel, healthcare and pensions are mentioned. The failure of General Operating Assistance and Public Transportation Assistance Fund ( PTAF) to provide appropriate funds to the transportation authorities and the need of increased support of government to the public transportation is presented.

EPA reaches 1.4 million dollars environmental settlement with MBTA

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Justice and the Attorney's Office reached 1.4 million dollars environmental settlement with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). The settlement will provide for cleaner air and water to the Boston region.
