Main reduction gears for Lockheed Martin's LCS
Article Abstract:
Lockheed Martin has contracted for commissioning its Littoral Combatant Ships (LCS) one in 2007 and the other in 2008 at Marinette Marine shipyard in Wisconsin. The LCS is being designed by Gibbs and Cox where as MAAG is supplying the main reduction gears. The ships maximum speed is 45 knots; its overall length is 115.5 m with a maximum beam of 13.1m and a draught of 3.7m.
