Revolutionary propulsion system for Super Eco-Ship
Article Abstract:
The Japan shipping industry is trying to find propulsion solutions with due emphasis on greenhouse emissions under the Kyoto Protocol 2002. Considering emission parameters, the National Maritime Research Institute of Japan (NMRIoJ) is in its research and development of a revolutionary ship 'Super Eco-Ship' powered by a combination of gas turbines and podded CRP electric propulsion system. The features of the propulsion system are discussed.

Relume expands Arabian Gulf services
Article Abstract:
Middle East Navigation Aids Service has introduced a new highly functional, multi-purpose light tender vessel, Relume, into service in the Arabian Gulf regions. The vessel is capable of performing a wide variety of operations, including oil spill response with dispersant, clean up and recovery facilities, other than the provision and maintenance of aids to navigation in the international waters of the Arabian Gulf.
