Article Abstract:
Tourism in Hong Kong is beginning to revive, with tourist arrivals for 1998 amounting to 9.6 million. Hong Kong's three main markets are mainland China, Taiwan and Japan, but it continues to be regarded as an expensive destination. The leading European markets for Hong Kong are the UK and Germany. Meanwhile, Pakistan's tourism industry is estimated to have grown by 1.7% in 1998. One of the main reasons for its poor results is the political unrest in Pakistan, plus a lack of investment.
