Jo Gipps
Article Abstract:
Director Jo Gipps is optimistic about the redevelopment of London Zoo following threatened closure. He emphasises the zoo's conservation and education role but recognises the need to compete with other leisure attractions. He considers lack of information may have contributed to falling admissions. Redevelopment will concentrate on improving existing facilities and developing new attractions. An eight year programme will cost 21 million pounds sterling. Fund-raising will target corporate sponsorship.
