Fighting for facilities
Article Abstract:
A new political party, United Sport is fighting the Cambridge, England local government elections. Candidates, Peter Chaplin and Neil Costello have criticised Cambridge City Council's failure to provide adequate athletics facilities. The Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club first raised the issue in 1985. Chaplin considers the council's rejection of a Cambridge University proposal for a 27 million pound sterling sports centre is a missed opportunity to upgrade facilities.
