Client fees and the art of persuasion
Article Abstract:
Travel agents in the United Kingdom may start to charge their customers commission for the service they offer because the profits from airlines are being reduced. Travel agents in the United states already do this and they have not found that customers are put off by the extra cost because they value the high standard of service they receive from the agent. Agents need to consider if they will charge an hourly rate or a tariff for specific services and customers need to understand what they are paying for. Problems are likely to occur if some agents do not charge and others do.
