Article Abstract:
The Colombian government is seeking to attract an additional 1 million visitors to the country during 1999 by launching a campaign aimed at improving its international image which has been damaged by 34 years of civil war. The number of international visitors to Colombia increased from 1,016,000 in 1994 to 1,193,000 in 1997, with the majority of tourists being American. Tourism accounts for about 2.3% of gross domestic production in Colombia in 1998.

Article Abstract:
The tourist industry of Ghana is projected to increase in value from an estimated $266 million in 1997 to $1,562 million by the year 2010. The Ghana Tourist Board is seeking investments in infrastructure to make travel easier within the country. Ghana expects to be able to attract up to 500,000 million holiday makers a year to the region by 2010, by improving accommodation standards and promoting Ghana's varied culture.
