A tourism consortium made up of the Great Lakes of North America is conducting a survey to find out more about the tourists who arrive in O'Hare Airport, Chicago. They will be asked if they are staying in the area or if they are en-route to another destination. The survey will be used to plan a marketing strategy aimed at European visitors. The consortium already know that German visitors like activity holidays while British visitors like the shops and museums. Specific brochures may be produced for the United Kingdom market.

The Millennium Experience dome complex to be built near to London's Royal Observatory and National Maritime Museum, will cost about 758 million pounds sterling. 12 million visitors are expected to the dome according to the British Tourist authority, and there are hopes that the Millennium Experience will act as a shopfront for Europe.
