Article Abstract:
The English Tourist Board (ETB) has launched a consultation initiative with the UK tourist industry called Agenda 2000. Information gained from the survey will be encapsulated in Action 2000, which lays out business plans to take the industry into the next century. Responses have been received from across the industry, with 2.5 million members of trade associations submitting their views. The industry gave a warm welcome to the proposed merger of rating schemes and the introduction of a basic level of standards. Members wants the ETB to offer leadership and guidelines to promote the industry.
