Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has made it to the top of the F&H's Top 100 list for the fourth consecutive year. The hotel chain, which currently has 41 medium-sized hotels and resorts in 17 nations operating under the Four Seasons and Regent name, is in the process of building 16 more hotels in such locations as Paris, France, San Francisco, CA, Dublin, Ireland and Las Vegas, NV. In 1997, Four Seasons posted record earnings that rose to $1.61 per share from $1.04 per share a year ago. The fast growth of the company is also evident in its listing on the New York Stock Exchange in February 1998 for the purpose of widening its shareholder base.

Restaurant operators can address the problem of food safety on their establishments by understanding and implementing good operating practices. This includes understanding that chemical, physical and biological hazards can contaminate food; educating food handlers about good personal hygiene; managing the flow of food; adapting Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point principles as well as complying with provincial and federal regulations and codes.
