Students studying leisure courses are seeking job placements to gain experience. Leisure industry managers therefore need to establish policies on student placements. They should consider which courses are most appropriate to the organisation and inform the colleges. Placements may be paid or unpaid. They should allow time for devising a worthwhile experience. Student placements may facilitate projects requiring extra staff. Organisations may benefit from innovative ideas.

However, the leisure Industry is served by many ILBs and the uncoordinated issue of standards is likely to cause confusion. The leisure industry has demonstrated little regard for training.
