The Convention and Visitors Bureau of Atlanta, Georgia, wants to use the city's short period of fame during the 1996 Olympic Games to boost long-term prospects for tourism in the city. The city can accommodate the anticipated arrival of two million tourists for the games without the need for extra hotels. A number of projects will improve and create tourist facilities, such as the new Welcome South Visitor Centre and the improved Martin Luther King Jr Centre.

The world of Coronation Street

The Coronation Street tour in Blackpool, England, does not offer value for money in comparison to the equivalent Manchester attraction. It was set up on Jul. 25, 1996 to host 500,000 tourists per annum, and costs 5.99 pounds sterling per adult. The tour includes an imitation copy of Coronation Street and the Rovers Return. It is accompanied with video and television programmes to provide a brief history of Coronation Street since its initial episode in 1961.
