In on exclusion
Article Abstract:
It is clear that sports and arts can play a valuable role in urban regeneration in the UK. They can also assist in combatting social exclusion, a key concern of Prime Minister Tony Blair. The government's Social Exclusion Unit has created 18 Policy Action Teams (PATs), with the Dept for Culture, Media and Sport being responsible for PAT 10 on arts and sports. This PAT is looking at examples of partnerships and best practice, and has visited a number of initiatives. These include the Youth Charter for Sport in Toxteth, Liverpool, England.
